The Rare Queen "Selena Gomez" And Her Battle With Bipolarity

Selena Gomez, one of the most loved and influential singers of all time has been dealing with a Bipolar disorder which she recently opened about.
Earlier she also went through a kidney transplant surgery by a battle with Lupus (an
autoimmune disease).

Bipolar disorder

It is a mental disorder in which the individual suffers a period of depression and mania.
People with bipolar disorder frequently display extreme, intense, and disturbing emotional states known as mood episodes. Extreme happiness or excitement (mania) and melancholy
(depression) are typical symptoms of the disease.

Selena’s struggle with her mental illness

She has struggled with her mental illness for many years. At just 24 years old, Selena Gomez
has spent a lot of time in the spotlight. She’s one of the world’s biggest pop stars and the most
popular person on Instagram. But as she reveals in the April issue of Vogue, fame hasn’t been
so easy on her health.
My self-esteem was shot,” she says. “I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks
right before getting on stage, or right after leaving the stage.
The singer says she spent 90 days in the treatment center in Tennessee, where she took part in
individual therapy, group therapy, and equine therapy, which uses horses to help treat mental
health conditions.
Another way Gomez is taking control of her mental health: staying off social media. Instagram had become so consuming to me,” she tells Vogue. “It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to.
I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see.” As a result, she’s now
lying low on Instagram, even deleting the app and letting her assistant post for her.
